Well, I was wrong, aparently, in my guess. Appears that Roderick has been
busy elsewhere...and no hints will be forthcoming, which is probably wise.
This leaves me absolutely clueless as to where to even begin. Ah well..hope
you are having better luck.

...or, it could be a diversion.

Just starting to look, but archive resources are pretty sparse.
Google is supposed to have added the entire past 20~ years
of archived articles to its database, but without something
better to start with, it's difficult. Google sucks.

You had a name (in response to SIRrod's quiz) -- no?
Don't think any discourse/conjecture on a group would be
useful at all, but the poster's name...

How about giving the name of the poster you thought it was?
Please and thank you!

From my reading, I gathered that one "Count Draculol" was a posting hero
of olde, and might have fit the bill. Also "legless" came to mind.
"Changed his nym to one that started with an 'L'" was more or less how
the riddle was phrased. That's really all I had , I'm afraid, but when I
found there was a group dedicated to count-draculol, I thought for sure
I had it. Hope you are well. Wish I could have been more of a help.
